ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring
Used skilfully, even artfully, coaching is an exceptionally powerful tool for releasing an individual’s potential. It can open up new insights and possibilities, giving access to personal resources which may otherwise have been left undiscovered and untapped. Whether you’re experiencing a specific challenge, or simply seeking to grow and develop, then 1:1 Coaching could be invaluable.
We’ll start with an initial phone call so that I can gain some sense of what it is you’re looking to achieve. The call will also give you the opportunity to get to know me a little, allowing each of us to decide if we would like to continue working together.
It’s at this point that I would stress that I have an absolute commitment to support those I work with, doing all I can to enable them to achieve the success they seek. Using my many years of experience, insights, and practical skills, I’ll support you in exploring ways of gaining a more empowering sense of whatever challenge you face. In doing so, you can expect me to be understanding and honest, kind and challenging. I will encourage and cajole, holding your hand if and where that’s necessary, and maybe giving you a little nudge in the back, if that too is appropriate. So, if you choose to work with me, do so in the full knowledge that I will expect your commitment to match mine. That may be challenging, but it’s exciting too, and it’s also the way to guarantee that our working relationship will be a positive and fruitful one.
After our initial call, and presuming we choose to proceed, at our first session we’ll then agree on the overall outcome we’re working towards, and on the total number of sessions we’ll have. Generally speaking this will be between 5 to 6 sessions, spread over a period of several months. While we will constantly bear in mind our overall outcome as the destination we’re moving towards, each individual session will be based around determining what it is that you want to have achieved by the end of it. Meanwhile, in-between sessions you will be encouraged to apply aspects of what you have learned or decided during the previous session, reporting back at the beginning of the subsequent session.
